About Me

My name is Jason Carter, I was born and raised in Waterville Maine. I moved to the Washington DC region in 2001 and have been living there since.  Art has always been an important part of my life, I grew up drawing, painting and creating it. My interests in subject matter lie in the historical and fantasy realms, I'm especially inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.  I enjoy creating pen and ink pieces, painting using oil and acrylics and recently creating digital art. Digital art has provided me with new opportunities to explore my creative side with a complete lack of fear.

Some of my favorite artists are Gustave Doré, Frank Frazetta, Geoff Hunt, Angus Mcbride, Donato Giancola and Gerald Brom.  These artists increased my love of fantasy and historical illustration and have inspired me to create my own pieces and to explore my talent.

I also love being outdoors, either camping and hiking with my family.  I’m a die-hard Chelsea Football Club fan, I collect historical arms and armor and love to read history books.
